Aran received his MD from University of Pennsylvania, trained in internal medicine at New York Hospital and obtained his MBA/MPH at Columbia University. He was the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Group Health Inc/Emblem, and Medical Director at Oxford Health Plan and at New York Downtown Hospital. He also was a founder and served as President of Partners Health Plan (a special needs MLTC plan), Operating Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and was part of the founding team and Chief Medical Officer of Oscar Health Plan and Pager as well as co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Kaden Health.

He is an investor, board member and consultant to various early-stage companies and has participated in several fundraising rounds and exits and has served on a number of non-for-profit boards including most recently as the Vice Chair at the New Jewish Home.
